WHEATLAND BANK OPENS BRANCH IN CHELAN

(SPOKANE) Wheatland Bank has expanded banking operations into Chelan, Washington with the opening of a new branch located at 134 East Woodin Avenue.

The Chelan branch completes the final step in the 2008 central Washington expansion plan, which has already seen new branches in Wenatchee, Yakima and Ellensburg earlier this year.

"Along with our existing Wenatchee branch, our recent expansion into Chelan has allowed us to bring a higher level of convenience and service to a key region in our state’s economy,” said Susan Horton, Chairman, CEO and President of Wheatland Bank. “With our roots in the agricultural communities of eastern and central Washington, Wheatland Bank is uniquely qualified to provide agricultural and business banking expertise in this community"

Marjie Brown will manage the Chelan branch along with Sherri Jones as Service Manager. Sherri Jones has an eight year banking history in the Chelan, Manson, and Brewster markets.

Long time banking veterans Erik Hopkins, Albert Kissler and Derek Browning will provide commercial and agricultural lending as well as business banking expertise.

According to Erik, "Our expansion into Chelan presents an opportunity to better serve our Chelan Valley customers.  Wheatland Bank’s quick response time and local decision making have been instrumental in the growth of our local loan portfolio.  The addition of the Chelan branch will allow Wheatland Bank to grow our local Chelan customer relationships beyond strictly credit only transactions to full service banking and depository relationships"
